Weather:Chilly and heavy rain at times.
The two teams came out to the strains of 'black and yellow' by Wiz Kalifa (and it is as strain on the ears as well !),shook hand with each other and the refs, line up for kick off,and a thunder storm started, torrential rain soaked all those not under cover and lightning lit the night sky. The game started and the two teams went all out trying for the win that would see them through to the 3rd qualifying round and a home tie against the winners of Soham Town Rangers v Histon,(for the record that score was 0-7).
Both teams had chance upon chance but could not get the much needed breakthrough during a goal less first half, and it was much the same during the second half as well with both teams failing to get the ball into the back of the net.Cheshunt had a penalty on 75 minutes which Charlie Freeman had well saved by Tom Calverley in the Berko goal, and extra time loomed until Cheshunt substitute Osame Diallo wacked in a goal on 89 mins to break Berkhamsted's hearts, which were further shattered when Osame scored a brilliant solo goal 3 minutes into injury time to give The Ambers passage into the next round and no way back for Berkhamsted.
An excellent game and a credit to both clubs for the way the teams played with no bad tackles of foul language.
